Mountain spiny lizard (Sceloporus jarrovii) also known as Yarrow's spiny lizard. This is a male. Females lack the blue coloration. It is distinguished from its relatives by its unbroken black collar. This lizard inhabits the mountain ranges of southern AZ south into Mexico at altitudes of 4-10,000 feet. These isolated peaks are known as sky islands.
