The Redtail Notho, Nothobranchius guentheri, is a killifish from Zanzibar and eastern Tanzania. This fish deposits eggs in the temporary pools within which it is found. When the pools dry, the adults die but the eggs withstand the drying process and hatch as soon as the pools refill with the next rainy season. This specimen photographed in 2012.
