This caecilian is in the genus Caecilia and was encountered in the Peruvian Amazon Basin. Caecilians are an order (Gymnophiona) of amphibians that superficially resemble earthworms or snakes. At just under 1 meter in length (2.8 feet) and with bright blue coloration, this species also has enormous teeth. Photographed in 2011.
