Spined soldier bug (Hemiptera, Family Pentatomidae, Podisus maculiventris) feeding on forest tent caterpillar (Family Lasiocampidae, Malacosoma disstria) in forest in Alberta, Canada. The bug has its stylet inserted into the body of the caterpillar and is using digestive enzymes to liquefy the tissues of its prey, before sucking them into its own digestive system.
