Ruins of the ancient city of Jiaohe, on the 30m high cliff. Bounded by two small rivers, it was established during the Western Han Dynasty and has played a role as a garrison town for its strategical importance until destroyed by Genghis Khan in the 13th century. Xinjiang near Turpan, China.
