Example of one of the first facelifts performed by a woman, the French surgeon Suzanne Noel (1878-1954). Noel began her medical studies in 1905 in dermatology but soon moved into the field of cosmetic surgery. She worked as a reconstructive surgeon during World War I. This image shows a woman before her facelift (top) and after (bottom).
