"Sour Orange, Terrestrial Mollusk, and Larkspur," a page of calligraphy accompanied by an illustration from around 1591-96. The calligrapher Georg Bocskay was one of the greatest scribes of the 1500s and he included a variety of texts in different languages in his Model Book of Calligraphy. This page was illuminated by the artist Joris Hoefnagel.
