By 1927 he had developed what is known as Griffiths Experiment - one of the first experiments suggesting that bacteria are capable of transferring genetic information through a process known as transformation. And in 1928 reported the first widely accepted demonstrations of bacterial transformation, showing that bacteria can change their form and function.
