Transverse section of sinusoids (large capillaries). Capillaries are the site of exchange of gases, fluids, nutrients, and waste products. Their diameters range from 30-40um (being the largest and known as sinusoids) to 3-4um (being the smallest, half the diameter of a red blood cell).
