The Nurse cell-parasite complex of Trichinella spiralis. Natural hosts for these nematodes are flesh eating animals such as humans, pigs, and rats. Trichinosis or Trichinella infections can occur when infected meat is not thoroughly cooked. Symptoms of infection include chest pain, diarrhea, myaglia, periorbital oedema, pyrexia, and trismus. The sample in this light micrograph was prepared with a H & E Stain (Hematoxylin and Eosin).
