Stereo SEM image of the face of a common fruit fly, drosophilia melanogaster. The image was produced in high vacuum mode at 30 000 Kv and at a magnification of 140 x at 8" x 10". The specimen was collected in Melbourne, Australia and gold coated before micrographed. .A color was assigned to each layer (red for the left view and blue for right view), in order to enable stereoscopic viewing through 3D glasses.
