Qumran, Israel, at the Dead Sea. Telephoto view of the hillside and caves in which the Dead Sea scrolls were discovered. These scrolls were found in caves between 1947 and 1979 on the northwest shore of the Dead Sea. They include some of the earliest surviving Biblical documents.
