Blue barrel cactus (Echinocactus ingens) in the Chihuahuan desert. An example of convergent evolution, whereby unrelated species developing in similar environments evolve into look-alikes. In this case, the cactus looks similar to an African milk barrel, which is not a cactus at all, but a spurge (Euphorbia sp.).
