Porter's globemallow, Sphaeralcea procera. Lost to science for 70 years! Until these photos were taken known only from the 1943 type series collection taken about 20 miles northeast of Deming, Luna Co. NM. Recollected Sept. 2012, during a rare plant survey by Kenneth Heil and David Schleser in the Yeso Hills of southern Eddy Co., NM. The exact extent of its range is yet to be determined.
