The so-called Candelabra, etched 190m long and 3m deep into a sandy slope at Paracas, Peru, is usually lumped in the same category as ancient Nazca geoglpyhs. It is more probably recent, perhaps, as some suggest, a Masonic sign from the 19th century. The pre-Inca Nazca culture in southern Peru flourished between 200 BC and 600 AD. It is famous for its giant geoglyphs, which are etched into the Pampa de Nazca, an arid desert plateau between the towns of Nazca and Palpa.
