Gross specimen of a sectioned kidney (internal view) hypernephroma (also known as renal cell carcinoma). This type of cancer accounts for the vast majority of malignant kidney tumors. Carcinoma refers to its origin in the epithelial tissues of the kidney. There are few symptoms in the early stages and the tumor is resistant to radiotherapy and chemotherapy. If it is localized, the tumor is surgically removed.
