Accurate reconstruction of Ardipithecus ramidus based on original fossil casts, photographs and scientific measurements of the partial female skeleton ARA-VP-6/500, nicknamed "Ardi". The fossils were discoverd by a team lead by Tim White in 1994 in the Afar region of Ethiopia. The fossil find is thought to be 4.4 million years old and is one of the most complete skeletons over 1 millions years old. The reconstruction is formed out of polyurethane resin which has a similar look and feel to real fossilized bone.
