A pipette drips ordinary vinegar (acid) into a beaker containing a precise volume of NaOH sodium hydroxide (base) or analyte to illustrate the process of titration. Drops of the vinegar or titrant are added to the sodium hydroxide, or titrand, until the color changes, reflecting arrival at the endpoint of the titration. The volume of reactant consumed is used to calculate the concentration of analyte. Titration has not yet started. 1 in a series of 4.
