'Shaftesbury House', (c1872). Shaftesbury House, in Aldersgate Street in the City of London, was built c1644 by Inigo Jones. Also known as Thanet House, it was later used as a tavern, a lying-in hospital, and a dispensary. It was demolished in 1882.
