The Champagne Pool - a colourful hot spring in Waiotapu geothermal area. The surface temperature of this big spring is 74 ?C and it bubbles due to uprising carbon dioxide. Minerals contained in the hot water are gold, silver, mercury, sulphur, arsenic, thallium, antimony etc. and are depositing in the spring's surrounding sinter ledge. Waiotapu Geothermal area, Rotorua, North Island, New Zealand. The many geothermal areas in the Rotorua region make this one of the most famous sights in New Zealand.
