At Marlgu Billabong, part of the Parry Lagoons Nature Reserve on the Lower Ord River Floodplain. Near Wyndham Western Australia. Australia. Found throughout the northern and north-eastern regions of Australia. Inhabits wetlands, deeper billabongs and lagoons where there is aquatic vegetation. Nomadic in the wet season as it follows the spreading floodwaters.
