Illustration showing the interior of the Gun Control Room, the headquarters of London's anti-aircraft defences during the Second World War, 1944. Information regarding the movement of enemy airplanes was sent to this room and plotted on the maps on the left of the image. Then the senior staff (on the right) could co-ordinate London's anti-aircraft defence. This sketch was drawn by Captain Bryan de Grineau, the ILN special artist, during a visit to the Gun Control Room in 1944.
