Postcard depicting Mustafa Kemal Ataturk (1881 - 1938) and Ismet Inonu (1884 - 1973) - the effective founders and leaders of the Turkish Republic - inspiration to many in the Middle East, particularly Northern India, who saw, the ending of the Sultanate in Turkey as opening the possibility of the breaking up of India into India and Pakistan. Unusually, this card was published in Bombay and not Turkey (by the Bolton Fine Art Co.!).
