The Muslim Khilafat Movement led by the Ali Brothers (following Gandhi's First Non-Cooperation Movement of 1919), decided they could no longer live under colonial rule and under the leadership of Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan, the Haji of Turangzai they made the trek to Kabul, Afghanistan from Peshawar. The Kissa Kahani Bazaar or the romantic 'Street of Story-tellers' extends from west to east in the heart of the city of Peshawar. Located on the edge of the Khyber Pass near the Afghan border, Peshawar is the commercial, economic, political and cultural capital of the Pashtuns in Pakistan. The cosmopolitan Kissa (Qissa) Kahani Bazaar is lined with traditional kehwa khanas, Tikka Kabab, Chapli Kabab and dry fruit shops.
