During the Second World War many houses were destroyed, due to this, prefabricated houses (prefabs) were built, quickly and cheaply providing quality housing with all the amenities, central heating, modern kitchens, built-in cupboards. These photographs here in 1945, shows prefabs being built within 3 and an half hours in Shirehampton, Bristol, using aluminium salvaged from crashed aircrafts, they were sponsored by The Ministry of Aircraft Production.
