Lady Tichborne, previously Miss Denise Greville, daughter of Lieut.-Colonel Henry Fulke Greville, a relation of the Earl of Warwick. She was the wife of Sir Joseph Doughty-Tichborne who at the time of this picture was a lieutenant in the 10th Reserve Cavalry Regiment. The couple's house, Tichborne Park, Alresford, Hampshire was used for numerous entertainments for war funds, including concerts in aid of the Hampshire County Hospital and the British Red Cross Society.
