Bronze sculpture of a First World War British trooper astride his horse.Born in Paris 26.11.1871, he learned the techniques of Sculpture from his father, the ivory carver Augustin Moreau-Vauthier and studied under Thomas at the Ecole des Beaux Arts. He exhibited genre and allegorical figures at the Salon des Artistes Francais, becoming an Associate (1895) and winning an honourable mention (1898), third class (1899), second class (1907) and first class (1928) medals. He was awarded a silver medal at the Exposition Universelle of 1900 and the Legion d'Honneur in 1910. He produced a number of memorials in the aftermath of the first world war.
