LYDD TRAINING CAMP, Kent. Aerial view. This photograph from February 1920 indicates the extent of the First World War barracks. The camp and firing ranges here were set up in 1881, with the first permanent buildings erected in 1906. It was used for weapons training, especially artillery, for experiments with explosives and for tank trials. Lydd Range is still in use by the Army for weapons training.
