'The Lion's Bride' - a painting by Gabriel Cornelius Ritter von Max (1840?1915) was a Prague-born Austrian painter. The scene was depicted in motion picture form as an hommage in the Gloria Swanson film, 'Male and Female', (1919), directed by Cecil B. de Mille (see: 10387556).
