Lithograph of the Queen's Lodge (Bushy House) in Bushy Park. William, Duke of Clarence, the future King William IV (1830-7), was appointed Ranger of Bushy Park by his father, King George III (1760-1820). William and his mistress Dorothy Jordan lived in Bushy House together with their ten children until the couple's relationship came to an end in 1811. William continued living in the house with the children and later his wife Princess Adelaide after they married in 1818. On William's accession in 1830, Adelaide was appointed Ranger and after her husband's death in 1837 Bushy House became her official residence until her death in 1849
