Little Jane's Cottage - Brading, Isle of Wight, Hampshire. Formerly the home in Brading, Isle of Wight, of Jane Squibb who was commemorated in Annals of the poor by the Revd Leigh (Legh) Richmond, curate-in-charge of Brading and Yaverland from 1797 to 1805. Jane used to visit his Sunday School classes, held at St Mary's church, Brading. She died of tuberculosis, aged 15, on 30 January 1799 and is buried in St Mary's churchyard. Richmond (rather superbly) was the inventor of the boards used in churches all over the world to display hymn numbers.
