APSLEY HOUSE, London. Field Marshal Sir John Colbourne (1778-1863; created First Baron Seaton in 1839) sketched by Jan Willem PIENEMAN in 1821 (WM 1475-1948). In 1815 at the Battle of Waterloo Colonel Colborne commanded the 52nd Foot (Oxfordshire Light Infantry), who were instrumental in the rout of the French Imperial Guard, a pivotal moment in the battle.
