'An Interrupted English Dinner Party at Paris - Mourir pour la Patrie', c1849. Humorous scene: shocked and terrified English diners are interrupted at dinner. Cannonballs smash through the window of the dining room as a revolution takes place outside. A vase goes flying, and two guests take cover under furniture. 'Mourir pour la Patrie' means 'to die for one's country'. From "The Comic Almanack" by George Cruikshank.
