Central peak of Moon's Tycho crater, Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO) image. Long shadows are being cast in this sunrise view. This impact crater is in the southern lunar highlands. It is around 108 million years old, making it relatively young. This central peak is 2 kilometres tall. The LRO, which orbits the Moon, was launched on 18 June 2009. This image was obtained by the LRO's Narrow Angle Camera (NAC) on 10 June 2011.
