In 2013; the market; cattle fair; party with procession happened for the 400th time. Origins are unclear; but each year; a male goat is made King of Killorglin and King of the Puck Fair. Christianization of the Puck Fair (Irish: Aonach an Phoic; meaning "Fair of the He-Goat") happened under Cromwell between 1649 and 1653. Puck Fair is one of the oldest fairs in Ireland and Northern Ireland.
