Booklouse. Coloured scanning electron micrograph (SEM) of a booklouse (Liposcelis divinatorius). These insects, also known as barklice or barkflies, received their common name because they are commonly found amongst old books, where they feed on the paste used in binding. These lice are associated with human habitation and several are well known as pests of stored products. The genus is distributed nearly worldwide. These booklice mainly attack grain stores.
