Flatworm (Typhloplana sp.), dark field polarised light micrograph. The green dots seen inside are its endosymbionts, Zoochlorella. Zoochlorella are alga cells which contain chloroplasts. The chloroplasts provide the flatworm with energy and the flatworm provides the zoochlorella with a safe and secure home. Magnification: x70 when printed 10cm wide.
