A young white rhinoceros calf (Ceratotherium simum) nuzzles a patient adult male who shows restraint. The calf's mother was close by and the male, probably a suitor, resisted showing any aggravation. With the calf nearly weaned the female was likely due to come into oestrous. Photographed in Kwa-Zulu Natal, South Africa. This species is classified as endangered.
