Fossil trilobite (Asaphus punctatus). Asaphus is a genus of trilobites, a large group of long extinct marine arthropods that lived during the Lower to Middle Ordovician period in large parts of north-western Europe. Asaphus punctatus is a species in this genus characterized by eyes on exceptionally high stalks. Actual length of this specimen is 100 mm.
