Bruising on an 84 year old woman's wrist following a coronary angiogram. The radial artery of the arm was used to access the coronary artery for the procedure. An angiogram uses a radiopaque contrast medium injected into the blood vessels and multiple X-rays to show the structure and size of the blood vessels. It highlights any narrowing or damage to the vessels.
