Charles Maurice de Talleyrand Perigord (1754?1838), Prince de Talleyrand, 1817, Oil on canvas, 85 x 55 7/8 in. (215. 9 x 141. 9 cm), Paintings, Pierre Paul Prud'hon (French, Cluny 1758?1823 Paris), Talleyrand, a brilliant political figure who served under every French ruler from Louis XVI to Louis-Philippe, commissioned this portrait from Prud'hon in 1817. For Napoleon Prud'hon had already painted two full-length portraits of Talleyrand: one in 1806 for the Chateau de Compiegne (Chateau de Valencay, Indre) and another in 1807 (Musee Carnavalet, Paris)
