Penile Mondor's disease (PMD) in a 55 year old male patient. This is a rare disease characterised by thrombophlebitis of the superficial dorsal vein of the penis. Thrombophlebitis is an inflammatory process that causes blood to clot. Mondor's disease can also affect other parts of the body such as the chest, abdominal wall and upper arms. Treatments for PMD include anti-inflammatory medications, abstinence from sexual activity and surgery.
