Copper (Cu) has the second highest electrical conductivity value and is also an excellent conductor of heat. Copper is a very malleable metal that has been worked by man for several thousand years. Originally prized for its beauty it was to become a universal metal when alloyed with tin to make bronze. Copper plumbing was used in Egypt around 5000 years ago and is still very popular. Rivets made with copper will not corrode and are used by roofers to hang roof tiles. Some people still believe that a copper bracelet has health benefits although most research studies have discovered no clinical impact. It does, however, have anti microbial properties. As copper conducts heat very efficiently it may be found in components, like this car radiator sensor.
