Andromeda Galaxy (M31, NGC 224). Andromeda is the nearest galaxy to our own galaxy and is located 2.5 million light years away in the constellation of the same name. Andromeda measures 220,000 light years across. Its spiral arms are clearly visible here. Dwarf elliptical galaxy M110 is visible above M31.
