Fractured spine vertebra. Coloured axial computed tomography (CT) scan through a fractured T11 thoracic vertebra in the thoracic spine of a 27-year-old patient female who was in a road accident. The fracture is in the body of the vertebra. Chance fractures involve all 3 columns of the spine and result from flexion-distraction injuries. They commonly occur at the thoracolumbar junction and often associated with a seat belt injury in car accidents.
