MRI coronal scan of the lumbar spine of a 38-year-old female patient with Von Recklinghausen's disease. The patient presented with diffuse lumbar spinal pain, painful movements of the extremities of the lower limbs. The scan shows the presence of numerous neurofibromas sheathing along lumbar roots; these non-cancerous lesions are suggestive of neurofibromatosis (type 1).
