Hurricane Ida reached category 4 strength on 29 August 2021, making landfall in Louisiana, USA where it caused extensive damage, deaths and flooding. Hurricane Ida was later downgraded to a tropical storm on 30 August 2021. This image was obtained by the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) on NASA's Aqua satellite on 1 September 2019.
