Pelvic exenteration is an operation to remove most, or all, of the organs from the pelvic cavity. It is used to treat colorectal or urogenital cancers that have spread or reoccurred. This surgery was to treat mucinous adenocarcinoma of the rectal cuff, a malignant (cancerous) tumour with increased mucus secretion.
