Wulfenite is a lead molybdate, with the chemical formula PbMoO4. It usually occurs as thin tabular crystals of orange-red colour, sometimes brown or yellowish. Its crystal system is tetragonal, with the habitat varying from pyramidal to tabular crystals. It is often found as a secondary mineral associated with the oxidized zone of lead deposits. This sample, actual width 120 mm, is from the Schwarzenbach mine in Slovenia.
