Two cell culture bags containing human LN1 ovarian carcinoma cells aboard the International Space Station (ISS) on the STS-105 mission. The cells were cultured in microgravity for 14 days as part of an experiment looking at changes in the rate of cell growth and the synthesis of associated proteins. The cells were also studied for proteins produced as a result of oncogenes that change normal cells into cancer cells. Photographed by astronaut Frank Culbertson on 4th August 2001.
